MySomm Thursday Special

Grenache v. Garnacha:  What's In a Name?

Both In Stock Today!

Good Morning Friends,

This week I stocked up on two excellent wines.  Both made from the same grape, but from two different countries.  Aside from being two extremely delicious wines, it's an excellent opportunity to see how two wines made from the same grape can be so uniquely different.

I have both of these IN STOCK today for you to come and experience for yourself.  We have a significant amount available, but still, I anticipate them to move very quickly.  So either respond to this e-mail with your request, or swing by today and take some home for yourself.

Cheers!
-Ben

Black Slate "Porrera" Priorat

MySomm Wine Merchant Tasting Notes

"Year after year this is a tour de force for bold Spanish wines.  This vintage is no different.  It shows up-front black and blue fruits that bleed deep with intensity.  Flavors of balsamic cherries, lavender macaroon, & herbs de Provence.  On the rich, long finish there are other nuances of smoke, leather, & anise. The minerality & earthiness on the lingering finish are just a couple of the reasons that you want another sip. "

Cheers!

Rhone by Roger Sabon Cotes du Rhone

MySomm Wine Merchant Tasting Notes

"On the other end of the spectrum from the Spanish Garnacha, this is more focused on the earth & mineral tones rather than the fruit driven aspects of the Spanish version.  This has cassis, roasted & peppery charcuterie components.  Smoke-accented cherry and cocoa dusted truffles are lingering on the finish.  It's medium-bodied with silky, elegant tannins.  This is fantastic with food, but will drink well right on it's own."

Cheers!
