Sauv Blancs, Pinots, & Sick Little Girls

I hope you are all doing well this morning. As most of you know, I have two little girls, one 6 years old and the other 1. As those of you with kids undoubtedly know, school being back in session means that the runny noses and coughs are coming. Unfortunately, both of my girls have succumbed and are stuck at home today, and I’m on daddy duty. Here’s what that means for today:

*The store will not be open today.

*The Villa Maria Tasting is STILL ON from 5:30-6:30. I will be there at 5:00 pm so if you need anything, please feel free to stop by between 5:00-6:30 if you need to pick anything up.

*It also means that I have not one, but two great wines to offer you today, both of which are at great prices. Respond to this e-mail to place your order on these awesome values. Wines will arrive on Thursday.

Thanks to everyone for understanding.

Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough, New Zealand

MySomm Special Price: $16.75

“Lime, freshly cut grass, with just a hint of grapefruit. Lovely lemon zest and wet slate. This has a bit of a fuller texture than most NZ Sauv Blancs which gives it an interesting extra dimension. Lovely hints of green apple on the pure, zingy finish.”

Averaen Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon

MySomm Special Price: $18

“This has bright bing cherry with exotic spice undertones on the very aromatic nose. There are also exciting aromas of campfire smoke & dusty cocoa. It possesses a medium bodied weight with a smooth texture. On the palate there is black cherry with subtle hints of gingerbread & a touch of mint.”
